The historical Bellingham Homestead, Groot Drakenstein, is a National Monument situated in the heart of the wine-lands and is owned by The Podlashuk Bellinchamp National Heritage Foundation. Bellingham offers you a very private self catering getaway. The Homestead was built in 1693 and is the ancestral home of Bellingham Wines. Bernard & Fredagh Podlashuk who bought the property in 1943, produced amongst others the Johannisberger, the first Grand Cru, Shiraz and a sparkling Cuvee. Bernard Podlashuk was also the first South African to receive The Chevalier de Taste de Vin. |
